The Water Lilies \u2013 Green Reflections is a hand-painted oil reproduction of a late water motif by Monet: a very wide, low section of the water surface in dark blues and greens, with single white blossoms scattered across it.<\/p>\n

What is on the canvas<\/h3>\n

The canvas is markedly long and low \u2014 the width is about four times the height. There is no
\nsky, no bank and no horizon: only a section of the water surface<\/strong>, seen from
\nabove. The ground is dark, between blue-green and slate grey, and it is not uniform: horizontal
\nmasses of lighter green and blue drift across it and read as a slow movement below the surface.
\nThrough the middle red-brown strokes<\/strong> wind in irregular arcs \u2014 reflections of
\nbranches and stems lying on the water like a net. Across the lower half and towards the left edge
\nmore than ten white lily blossoms<\/strong> with orange-yellow hearts are scattered; they
\nare set down as short, thick touches and are the only light points on the whole canvas. The top
\nedge is the darkest and bluest, the bottom edge lighter and greener.<\/p>\n

A section with no edges<\/h3>\n

The scene has neither beginning nor end: the surface continues past both side edges, and
\nnothing in the work says where the section was taken from. That is exactly why it reads more like
\na view through a window than a portrait of a pond \u2014 the eye looks for a centre, finds none, and
\ntravels from blossom to blossom instead. This oil on canvas reproduction is built from three kinds
\nof stroke: broad horizontal masses for the water, long curved lines for the reflections of
\nbranches, and short thick touches for the blossoms. The depth that results is apparent and
\ninverted \u2014 what is lightest floats on top, and what is darkest is not behind but below.<\/p>\n

The subject among Monet\u2019s works \u2014 and what is not established about this original<\/h3>\n

The same pond in a square format and with denser pads is
\nWater Lilies<\/a>; in the violet version
\nwith vertical willow reflections,

What we deliberately do not state here:<\/strong> Monet painted this motif in more than
\none version, so which of them is the original behind this particular reproduction is not
\nestablished. You will therefore find no year of execution, no collection name and no accession
\nnumber on this page. We say what is visible on the canvas and nothing beyond it.<\/p>\n

How it works on the wall<\/h3>\n

The format is panoramic and asks for a long, unbroken wall \u2014 above a sofa, above a bed, above a
\nlow sideboard, or in a corridor where you walk past it. Because the work is low, it does better
\nhung a little lower, at seated eye level. Six sizes are offered: 130 x 30 cm and 175 x 40 cm suit
\na narrower bed or a horizontal accent in a hallway, 216 x 50 cm and 260 x 60 cm are the usual
\nchoices above a three-seater, and 305 x 70 cm and 350 x 80 cm are meant for large, empty walls.
\nBecause the range of colour is dark and cool, hand-painted canvas art of this kind needs a light
\nwall and warm rather than cold lighting; in an under-lit room the blossoms are lost.<\/p>\n

Hand-painted, not printed<\/h3>\n

This fine art reproduction is made with a brush, not a printer. A print lays the colour in an
\nevenly thin film, so water and blossoms come out equally smooth. Applied by hand, the water is
\ndragged thin and wide while the blossoms sit in thick, raised touches that cast a small shadow
\nabove the canvas. That is exactly why the blossoms light up one after another as you walk along
\nthe wall \u2014 a print cannot do that, because there everything is the same thickness. Because it is
\nhandwork, every copy differs a little.<\/p>\n

If none of the six sizes suits your room, we paint to the size you set yourself, keeping the
\nratio of the sides, which matters especially in a format this long. A 3D application is available
\nfor the frame \u2014 it is for frame selection only<\/strong> and does not place the work in

Ordering, lead time and approval before dispatch<\/h3>\n

The work is painted to order, so the lead time is 15 to 45 days<\/strong>, and for the
\nlargest sizes usually nearer the upper end. Before anything is sent we send you a photograph of
\nthe finished piece for approval; only once you confirm do we stretch the canvas on a wooden frame
\nand prepare it for hanging. As wall decor it belongs where there is room beside it \u2014 a panoramic
