</colgroup>

The British Ambassador – Fernando Botero

The British Ambassador is a 1987 painting by Fernando Botero: a full-figured diplomat in tails and bowler hat with a tiny British flag stands on a terrace among banana plants. We paint our hand-painted study of The British Ambassador to order on canvas, in oil or acrylic, in 8 sizes from 50 × 75 cm to 138 × 207 cm or in a custom size. Before The British Ambassador is dispatched, we send you a photo of the finished painting.

What does The British Ambassador show?

In The British Ambassador a round man in a black bowler hat, black tailcoat, grey waistcoat, bow tie and wide grey trousers stands on a wooden terrace, holding a tiny British flag in one hand and a red rose and a cane in the other, with banana plants and yellow bunches crowding behind him. Botero painted a foreign diplomat in a tropical land with tender irony, which is why The British Ambassador feels solemn and comic at once.

How is our hand-painted study of The British Ambassador made?

Our painters paint the study of The British Ambassador by hand, with brushstrokes of different thickness, separately for every order. We paint in oil or acrylic, depending on the subject and the size, so the surface of The British Ambassador has a real paint texture that a print does not have. When The British Ambassador is finished, we photograph it and send you the photo for approval.

Which size of The British Ambassador suits your room?

For the wall above a sofa or a sideboard choose The British Ambassador in 70 × 100 cm, and for a bedroom, hallway or work corner 50 × 75 cm. The British Ambassador is available in 50 × 75 cm, 60 × 90 cm, 70 × 100 cm, 80 × 120 cm, 90 × 140 cm, 100 × 150 cm, 120 × 180 cm and 138 × 207 cm. The 138 × 207 cm size of The British Ambassador is the size of the original. A simple rule for The British Ambassador: it should be about two thirds as wide as the furniture below it, with its centre about 150 cm from the floor.

How does The British Ambassador arrive, and when?

We ship The British Ambassador rolled in a sturdy tube, stretched on 2.5 cm deep wooden stretcher bars, or framed – you choose when you order. Stretching and framing of The British Ambassador are done in our workshop in Slovenia. When a size of The British Ambassador is in stock, it reaches you within 6 working days; a study of The British Ambassador painted to order reaches you in 15 to 45 days.

Frequently asked questions about The British Ambassador

Is The British Ambassador a print?

No. Every brushstroke of The British Ambassador is painted by hand on canvas, so the paint visibly stands up from the surface.

Can I order The British Ambassador in a size that is not listed?

Yes. We also paint The British Ambassador in a custom size; enter the width and height you want when you order The British Ambassador.

Is The British Ambassador suitable for an office?

Yes, the scene of the solemn diplomat suits an office, a meeting room or a hallway; for an upright wall choose 70 × 100 cm or 90 × 140 cm.

Is The British Ambassador a good gift?

The British Ambassador is a gift for a diplomat, a lover of Britain or a Botero fan. If you are unsure which size of The British Ambassador to choose, give a gift voucher.

Fernando Botero – The British Ambassador Year of creation: 1987 Original size: 138 cm x 207 cm Painting style: Expressionism Original technique: Oil on canvas Located: Author ‘s private collection The British Ambassador – Fernando Botero The British Ambassador is a 1987 painting by Fernando Botero: a full-figured diplomat […]

[9793
9827,14415,14403,9870,9862,9863
post-85389","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-fernando-botero","product_tag-botero-en","product_tag-hallway-wall-art","product_tag-large-wall-paintings","product_tag-painter","product_tag-reproduction-en","product_tag-reproductions","pa_dimenzija-100-x-150-cm","pa_dimenzija-120-x-180-cm","pa_dimenzija-138-x-207-cm","pa_dimenzija-50-x-75-cm","pa_dimenzija-60-x-90-cm","pa_dimenzija-70-x-100-cm","pa_dimenzija-80-x-120-cm","pa_dimenzija-90-x-140-cm","pa_oblika-vertical","pa_okvir-without-frame","pa_podokvir-without","pa_podokvir-yes","first","onbackorder","purchasable","product-type-variable","has-default-attributes
