Pear – Fernando Botero

Pear is a 1976 painting by Fernando Botero: a single huge, golden-orange pear against a dark background. We paint our hand-painted study of Pear to order on canvas, in oil or acrylic, in 8 sizes from 40 × 50 cm to 196 × 241 cm or in a custom size. Before Pear is dispatched, we send you a photo of the finished painting.

What does Pear show?

Pear shows one large, glowing pear in golden-orange tones that fills almost the whole canvas, with a short stalk and a tiny worm peeking out of a small hole on the right. Botero painted still lifes with the same fullness as people, which is why Pear feels monumental, warm and gently humorous.

How is our hand-painted study of Pear made?

Our painters paint the study of Pear by hand, with brushstrokes of different thickness, separately for every order. We paint in oil or acrylic, depending on the subject and the size, so the surface of Pear has a real paint texture that a print does not have. When Pear is finished, we photograph it and send you the photo for approval.

Which size of Pear suits your room?

For the wall above a sofa or a sideboard choose Pear in 90 × 110 cm, and for a bedroom, hallway or work corner 40 × 50 cm. Pear is available in 40 × 50 cm, 50 × 60 cm, 70 × 85 cm, 90 × 110 cm, 110 × 130 cm, 130 × 160 cm, 160 × 200 cm and 196 × 241 cm. The 196 × 241 cm size of Pear is the size of the original. A simple rule for Pear: it should be about two thirds as wide as the furniture below it, with its centre about 150 cm from the floor.

How does Pear arrive, and when?

We ship Pear rolled in a sturdy tube, stretched on 2.5 cm deep wooden stretcher bars, or framed – you choose when you order. Stretching and framing of Pear are done in our workshop in Slovenia. When a size of Pear is in stock, it reaches you within 6 working days; a study of Pear painted to order reaches you in 15 to 45 days.

Frequently asked questions about Pear

Is Pear a print?

No. Every brushstroke of Pear is painted by hand on canvas, so the paint visibly stands up from the surface.

Can I order Pear in a size that is not listed?

Yes. We also paint Pear in a custom size; enter the width and height you want when you order Pear.

Does Pear suit a kitchen or a dining room?

Yes, the warm golden-orange pear suits a kitchen, a dining room or a restaurant; above the dining table choose 90 × 110 cm, and for a smaller wall 50 × 60 cm.

Is Pear a good gift?

Pear is a gift for a cook, for a new kitchen or dining room, or for a Botero fan. If you are unsure which size of Pear to choose, give a gift voucher.

Fernando Botero – Pear Year of creation: 1976 Original size: 196 cm x 241 cm Painting style: Expressionism Original technique: Oil on canvas Located: Author ‘s private collection Pear – Fernando Botero Pear is a 1976 painting by Fernando Botero: a single huge, golden-orange pear against a dark […]

[9793
9827,14415,14385,14403,9870,9862,9863,14433
post-85479","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-fernando-botero","product_tag-botero-en","product_tag-hallway-wall-art","product_tag-kitchen-and-dining-room-paintings","product_tag-large-wall-paintings","product_tag-painter","product_tag-reproduction-en","product_tag-reproductions","product_tag-still-life-paintings","pa_dimenzija-110-x-130-cm","pa_dimenzija-130-x-160-cm","pa_dimenzija-160-x-200-cm","pa_dimenzija-196-x-241-cm","pa_dimenzija-40-x-50-cm","pa_dimenzija-50-x-60-cm","pa_dimenzija-70-x-85-cm","pa_dimenzija-90-x-110-cm","pa_oblika-vertical","pa_okvir-without-frame","pa_podokvir-without","pa_podokvir-yes","first","onbackorder","purchasable","product-type-variable","has-default-attributes
