This painting represents the 1st Chakra – the root or base chakra. It is located at the base of the spine and governs the physical dimensions, helping us to feel grounded, safe and secure. It is also the centre for the ‘fight or flight’ feeling and if this is balanced correctly, a sense of groundedness and security takes over. It vibrates like our adrenal glands and regulates the kidneys and spine, for the spine is the grounding foundation of our body, the secure element to which it connects. The predominant colour is red.

The 1st Chakra painting, the root chakra in vivid reds, comes in 4 upright sizes, from 30 x 40 to 90 x 120 cm. For a narrow wall in a hallway or beside a mirror, choose 36 x 48 cm; above a 90 cm bench, choose 60 x 80 cm, two thirds of its width; over a 135 cm chest of drawers, 90 x 120 cm. The strong red ground with its fan of green, yellow and blue strokes gives a hallway or yoga corner a warm, grounded feel.

The red 36 x 48 cm canvas arrives in 6 days, while 30 x 40, 60 x 80 and 90 x 120 cm take 15–45 days. Choose YES in the Stretcher menu and the red canvas with its fan of strokes arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang. A frame is optional: for the 1st Chakra painting the Frame menu starts at “Without frame”. The red ground and the fan of strokes are hand-painted in relief, so the 1st Chakra painting is not a print.
