The painting on the canvas is beautiful because of its composition, color and perspective. Four ballerinas slowly withdraw from the scene in the painting. Degas’ placement of the figures in the lower left corner of this mural masterpiece creates a strong sense of movement. The background of the artistic image is lost through the technique of perspective. The author balanced the unbalanced placement of the subjects with repeated vibrant colors. The warm tones from the ballerinas’ dresses also appear in the background in the opposite corner.
