Which famous painting suits your room?

For a living room or above a sofa, bright landscapes and gardens work well: water lilies by Monet, Van Gogh’s night skies and fields, Renoir’s sunny scenes or Seurat’s Sunday afternoon on the Seine. Klimt’s gold and Modigliani’s portraits give a bedroom or a hallway an elegant accent. In a modern interior, Kandinsky’s colour compositions look almost contemporary, while Munch and Schiele are strong statement paintings for a study or an office. Gauguin, Rousseau and Arcimboldo bring colour and a little playfulness, and Degas’ dancers suit a girl’s room or a dance studio.

Choose a painting about two thirds as wide as the furniture below it, and hang it so that its centre sits about 150 cm above the floor.

Hand-painted, not printed

Every painting is painted by hand in oil or acrylic on canvas, depending on the work, layer by layer, by our painters, who work in different locations. Each painter follows the technique of the original: Van Gogh’s thick brushstrokes, Monet’s light touches of colour or the fine lines of a portrait. Because each canvas is painted by hand, every copy is slightly different and has real depth and texture that a print cannot imitate.

Stretching and framing are done in our workshop in Slovenia. You choose how the painting is sent: rolled, stretched on a wooden stretcher ready to hang, or framed. Before dispatch we send you a photograph of the finished painting, and we send it only once you approve it.

Sizes, prices, custom size and frame

Each painting has its own range of sizes, matched to the proportions of the original, and the product page shows the price of every size. Prices start at 108 €. If your wall needs a different measurement, send us the width and height: we paint the painting in your size. A frame is available on request, and our 3D application shows our frame profiles on the painting you choose. For a gift, a wall art voucher lets the recipient choose the painting and the size.

Frequently asked questions

Are your reproductions hand-painted or printed?

Every reproduction is painted by hand in oil or acrylic on canvas, depending on the work, by our painters; it is not a print or a poster. You can see the brushstrokes and the texture of the paint, and you see a photograph of your painting before it is sent.

How much does a hand-painted copy of a famous painting cost?

Prices start at 108 € and depend on the painting and the size you choose. Larger and more detailed paintings cost more; every product page lists the price of each size.

Is it legal to buy a copy of a famous painting?

Yes. All 15 painters in this section died more than 70 years ago, so their works are in the public domain in the EU, and a hand-painted copy sold as a copy is legal. The originals stay in museums and private collections.

Where can I buy reproductions of famous paintings?

Here: every reproduction is hand-painted to order by a painter, and you can choose from over 1,000 works by 15 painters. They include The Kiss, The Starry Night, Water Lilies, The Scream, Mona Lisa and Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. If the painting you want is not in the gallery, write to us and we will paint it for you.

Which size should I choose?

Measure the furniture below where the painting will hang and choose a painting about two thirds of its width: above a three-seater sofa that is usually 120 to 160 cm, above a desk or in a hallway 50 to 70 cm. If none of the listed sizes fits, we paint the painting in your size.

How is the painting delivered – rolled, stretched or framed?

As you choose: rolled, stretched on a wooden stretcher and ready to hang, or framed. Stretching and framing are done in our workshop in Slovenia, and the painting is wrapped in protective film and packed in a sturdy box.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery takes 15 to 45 working days, depending on the painting and the size. We ship across the EU and to the United Kingdom.

Will I see the painting before it is sent?

Yes. When the painting is finished, we send you a photograph. If you would like a change to colours or details, we make it, and we send the painting only once you approve it.
