Gustav Klimt – Water Serpents I is part of Klimt’s Water Serpents series, which is characteristic of the painter’s oeuvre. The extremely ornate parts of the painting fade into glittering golden tones, while the motif of the artwork contains an erotic charge typical of Klimt’s depictions of women.
