Monet painted the tall poplars on the banks of the river Epte in different weather conditions and seasons. The entire series of poplars is painted in soft pastel shades, and all the oils on the canvas are extremely decorative.
With decorative and fairy-tale cascades of colors, the author opened the way from impression to the “hidden centers” of thoughts and ideas, as the symbolists used to say, and in the name of impression and objective marking of reality, he found himself in the middle of the most mysterious phenomena like a cabalist.
