Monet painted the faces in the oil painting Women in the Garden slightly blurred, so the painting cannot be classified as a portrait. Camille, Monet’s wife, posed for the depiction of the three figures on the left side of the canvas. Monet depicted the white dresses of the women in the painting very accurately and firmly anchored them in the structure of the composition – a symphony of green and brown shades, which he created with a tree and a path in the foreground.
