Description
Saxophonist – a cubist jazz passion
A cubist figure of a saxophonist in a wide-brimmed hat plays a teal saxophone before a burning orange-red field, while an enormous yellow disc glows behind him like a spotlight: the figure occupies the left centre, his teal hat carries a striped band in blue, orange and red, and the face is an orange-red profile wedge beneath the brim.
Technique & Texture
A teal shirt passes into deep navy shadow planes, a red sleeve wedge crosses the chest, and the saxophone descends in an S-curve from the mouth down the right side to a three-fingered orange hand, opening into a bell at the lower right with yellow rims. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – a stucco grain covers every plane.
The Motif
The yellow disc takes the upper centre-right, framed by orange and rust-red wedges, while the red darkens toward the left edge and the bottom. A contrast of the cool teal figure and the warm burning ground, where the jazz passion rises from every stroke.
Styling & Placement
A lively painting on canvas for living rooms, music rooms and bars; the cubist figure draws the eye, the warm tones heat the room. Wall art for lovers of music and art.
