In short — what applies to most orders
At svetslik.si you have the right to return most paintings and decorative items without giving any reason — within 14 days of receipt — and to request a full refund of the purchase price.
Framing is always optional. Choosing a decorative frame does not affect your right to return the painting itself.
The only statutory exception applies to paintings made to your exact specifications in non-standard dimensions or with personal customisations. Full details are below.
Who has the right to return
The right of withdrawal applies exclusively to natural persons (consumers) purchasing for private, non-commercial purposes. Legal entities, sole traders, and other business buyers do not have a statutory right of withdrawal.
Which orders are eligible for return
Eligible for return:
- all reproductions of famous artists and original paintings from our standard online catalogue in standard dimensions — including those with a 15–45 working-day delivery time, which are painted in a standard catalogue size
- single-panel and multi-panel wall canvases
- decorative and ambient paintings in standard dimensions
- decorative frames purchased separately
Returns are not accepted for (in accordance with Article 43.č of ZVPot [Slovenian Consumer Protection Act] and Article 16(c) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU on Consumer Rights):
- paintings made to your exact specifications in dimensions not listed on our website (orders placed by email on the basis of a custom quote)
- commissioned works and portraits made to order (category Original Works by Commission)
- works that were irreversibly adapted to your personal requirements with your consent
Deadline for notifying us
You must notify us of your intention to return within 14 days of the day you received your order. The period begins the day after the day on which you received the goods.
The date on which you send us the email notification is what counts — not the date on which the returned parcel arrives with us.
How to notify us

Please include:
- your order number
- your full name and delivery address
- which items you are returning
- your preferred refund method (bank account or PayPal — same payment method used for the original purchase)
We will confirm receipt of your notification no later than the following business day.
Conditions for returning goods
The goods must be returned:
- undamaged and in the same condition as received
- in the original or equivalent protective packaging suitable for transport
- without signs of use beyond what is necessary for inspection — you may view the painting and check its dimensions and quality, but must not hang it or permanently install it
If the value of the goods has been reduced due to handling beyond what is necessary for inspection, we reserve the right to make a proportional deduction from the refund.
Deadline for the physical return of goods
The goods must be sent back to us no later than 30 days from the date on which you notified us of your withdrawal.

We recommend sending with tracking (registered post or courier). We do not accept liability for loss or damage during return shipping.
Who pays return shipping
Return shipping costs are borne by the buyer. The cost is charged at the rate of the chosen carrier, based on weight, dimensions, and destination.
Refund
We will issue the refund within 14 days of receiving your return notification — provided we have received the goods back or proof of dispatch within that period.
We refund:
- the full purchase price for the returned items
- the original delivery charge up to the cost of the cheapest standard delivery option we offered; any difference for a more expensive delivery option chosen by you is not refunded
The refund will be made using the same payment method as the original purchase: card payments are refunded to the card, bank transfers to the bank account, PayPal payments to your PayPal account. An alternative arrangement may be made at your explicit request, at no cost to you.
Applied discounts, promotional codes, and bonus codes are not refunded — only the amount actually paid is returned. Gift vouchers are returned in the form of a gift voucher; the cash portion paid is refunded via the original payment method.
Material defect
If you received a damaged or incorrect painting, please notify us within 2 months of discovering the defect at info@svetslik.si, with a description and photographs. In the event of a material defect, you have the right to request repair, replacement, or a refund under the Slovenian Consumer Protection Act (ZVPot).
The seller is not liable for material defects that become apparent more than two years after the goods were received.
