Description

Sky and Earth – a cyan weave with a golden breakthrough
A blue-cyan woven field across three quarters of the canvas: fine vertical striping and transverse scratches give it the character of fabric, white horizontal dripping strokes run along the top edge, and down the left side descends a darker blue-grey smoke strand, densest at the upper centre-left.
Technique & Texture
The lower right quadrant belongs to the earth: an ochre-amber scratched gold field whose thinner traces trail on along the bottom edge to the left. This is a hand-painted work of art – the scratches in the gold and the weave in the blue are real furrows, not a pattern.
The Motif
The true light event hides in the lower right corner: a white burst from which scratchy rays radiate into the gold – a sun that breaks through the earth, not the sky. Above the gold, at the middle right, floats a pale glow like its echo.
Styling & Placement
A deep abstract painting for living rooms, offices and bedrooms; the cool blue calms, and the golden breakthrough gives it warmth and a story – wall art for walls that need both.
