Description

A Flock of Birds – fifteen birds flying upward
A folk flock of fifteen stylised birds on deep navy blue – and every last one flies upward: chalk-white bodies with their tips toward the top, tiny red-orange dots of beaks and straight textured wings, each in its own two- or three-colour combination.
Technique & Texture
The wings are banded – orange, coral red, teal, rust, ochre and peach take turns in hatched, weave-like bands with a linocut soul. This is a hand-painted work of art – every bird is painted separately, and the combinations alternate like patterns on a woven border.
The Motif
The flock gathers into a loose oval at the centre of the canvas, and the navy border surrounds it on all sides like a night sky: the largest birds fly at the upper centre, at the left at a third of the height, at the middle right and at the lower centre – a rising formation caught just before it scatters.
Styling & Placement
A playful painting on canvas for children’s rooms, living rooms and hallways; its folk character ties it to textiles, wood and warm tones – decorative wall art that takes off anew every day.
