This abstract painting shows the quiet geometry of an urban landscape: softly smudged blocks in shades of grey, ash blue, clay orange, and pale violet mirror one another like reflections in rainy asphalt. Technique & Texture
Soft-edged, dragged blocks in the upper part flow in the lower third into silvery glazed layers – a wet street mirroring the city above it. It is a hand-painted artistic painting, in which the artist drew each block and its reflection by hand, so the city stays soft and warm.
The Motif
The dark blue tower right of centre pulls its reflection all the way to the lower edge – the painting’s strongest vertical. Around it, brick-orange and clay blocks of warm masonry line up, while pastel insets in the upper left open a view toward the bright sky between the buildings.
