Description
Golden Fragment – an excavated artefact on the wall
A single striped gold-and-dark-brown fragment, tilted across the upper left half of the canvas, the rest a clean pale ground – like an excavated object on a museum wall: the fragment enters from the upper left and hangs diagonally, large, taking up almost half the canvas, ending in a broken, chipped tip.
Technique & Texture
Along its length run parallel raised gold ridges with oxidised umber valleys between them, and on its right edge a brighter clean leaf-gold facet lights up. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the ridges are real relief, not drawn lines.
The Motif
The ground is a cool white-grey, with a soft grey shadow in the upper right corner and a faint blue-grey tone at the lower right. The empty space around the fragment sets it up like a treasure – an artefact given weight by silence.
Styling & Placement
An elegant painting on canvas for offices, living rooms and reception areas; the golden fragment draws the eye, and the white ground lets it breathe. Wall art for minimalist rooms with taste.

Golden Fragment in portrait format: sizes and hanging
Golden Fragment is offered in 16 portrait sizes, from 40 x 63 to 200 x 319 cm. For a narrow wall beside a bookcase or between doors choose 50 x 79 or 60 x 95 cm, and above a console 100–110 cm wide the gold ridges work well at 70 x 111 cm. A stairwell or tall entrance hall takes 90 x 143 or 100 x 159 cm, and a high wall over a sofa 110 x 175 cm.
In the photograph Golden Fragment hangs in a slim gold frame above a pale sofa in a dark grey living room with a pendant lamp. A frame for Golden Fragment is picked in the Frame menu, which starts at “Without frame”, and YES under Stretcher brings the canvas with its white-grey ground stretched and ready to hang. Delivery of Golden Fragment takes 15–45 days. The raised gold ridges are real relief and Golden Fragment is hand-painted, so it is not a print.
