Grey Pilasters – an architecture of verticals with a golden ribbon
An upright architectural composition of vertical bands: at the left edge stands a dark textured grey column, and one column in – not on the edge itself – a broken golden ribbon falls in torn segments from the top to the lower sixth. The right half is dominated by a wide silver-white cracked pilaster.
Technique & Texture
The greys grade from graphite through mid-grey to almost white; the white pilaster is brightest at its centre, its edges rough and dissolving at the base. This is a hand-painted work of art – cracks and scratches run across all the columns and bind them into one wall.
The Motif
Between the golden ribbon and the white pilaster follow mid-grey columns and a darker grey-blue band, and in the upper part a second, pale golden dusting appears beside it. At the far right, the composition is closed by a dark grey column with a fine web of cracks.

An abstract painting for offices, entrance halls and living rooms with an architectural character; the upright format emphasises the rise of the columns, and the golden ribbon gives the greys a single precious vein.
