Golden Grid – a night map of gold ribbons
Ruler-straight metallic gold-foil ribbons crossing at many angles over a matte near-black – an irregular star grid with triangular black windows: the widths range from broad ribbons to threads, and steep diagonals cutting both ways dominate.
Technique & Texture
The densest knots are at the upper right, where a tall star-shaped intersection converges, and at the left edge mid-height, while across the centre runs a wider, slightly rising horizontal ribbon. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the foil is mirror-metallic and catches the light, and the ground is a matte charcoal with a fine brush texture.
The Motif
At the very centre one large calm black triangle remains, an island of silence in the maze. A night satellite map or a shining spider-web – a cartographic look in which every thread flows somewhere.
