Description

Golden Border – a night coast between black and white
A night coast in three materials: a black zone holds the lower half of the canvas, its upper edge furrowed and rising toward the right – the black bites highest just right of centre – and within it run creased vein lines.
Technique & Texture
The gold is not a thin line but a broad band along the border and above it: impasto gold mounds on the left, scattered plates across the centre and a heavy cluster on the right. This is a hand-painted abstract painting – white impasto dabs mix into the gold and spill like foam over the black edge.
The Motif
The upper quarter stays calm, warm white with barely visible trowel marks – a sky above the coast that leaves all the drama to the border. An almost baroque abundance on a single line: that is why the painting carries the border in its name.
Styling & Placement
A dramatic decorative painting for living rooms, dining rooms and reception areas; the black grounds it, and the gold makes sure it glows in the evening light – wall art for walls that can carry contrast.
