Oil on canvas Two Sisters represents one of the highlights of Renoir’s artistic career and is also one of the most popular paintings exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in the USA. Oil on canvas has an additional name – On the Terrace, which was given to the painting by the patron of the Impressionists and the first owner of this painting, Paul Durand. Renoir did not dispute this additional title, perhaps also because the girls in the oil painting on the canvas are actually not related.
