The hallway is the first thing every guest sees and the space you walk through several times a day. Because the wall is usually narrow and you see the painting up close, here are paintings in portrait format: abstract and modern, flowers, landscapes and reproductions of famous painters. Each one is painted by hand by a painter, in oil or acrylic depending on the subject.
How to choose
- Narrow wall: a portrait painting fills a narrow wall between two doors better than a landscape one.
- Long hallway: two or three paintings of the same height in a row, evenly spaced, lead the eye down the hall.
- Dark hallway: light, warm colours and subjects with plenty of sky or light make it feel larger.
Frequently asked questions
Which painting suits a narrow hallway?
A portrait-format painting no wider than about two thirds of the wall. Seen up close, the hand-painted brushstrokes come into their own.
How high should I hang a painting in a hallway?
The centre of the painting at eye level, about 145 to 150 cm from the floor. On stairs, follow the steps: measure from the step below the painting and hang several paintings on a diagonal, parallel to the stairs.
Which colours work in a dark hallway?
Light, warm ones: yellow, sand, pale blue, or subjects full of light such as fields, sea or flowers. A dark painting on a dark wall gets lost.
How do you ship the painting?
Rolled in a tube, stretched on a 2.5 cm stretcher or framed, as you choose. Every painting is painted to order, and before dispatch we send you a photo of the finished painting.
