Sentimental Colloquy – Salvador Dalí
Sentimental Colloquy is a painting by Salvador Dalí from 1944: a grand piano with water pouring out of it, in the middle of a plain with cyclists carrying stones on their heads. We paint our hand-painted study of Sentimental Colloquy to order on canvas, in oil or acrylic, in 8 sizes from 47 × 26 cm to 230 × 130 cm or in a custom size. Before Sentimental Colloquy is dispatched, we send you a photo of the finished painting.
What does Sentimental Colloquy show?
In Sentimental Colloquy a cracked black grand piano stands on a wide plain divided by thin lines into tiles, a fountain rises from it and water pours out, and cyclists dressed in black circle around it with stones on their heads and long transparent veils streaming behind them. Dalí linked the motif to the ballet of the same name, for which he designed the sets, and Sentimental Colloquy is a light, moving dream image of music and motion.
How is our hand-painted study of Sentimental Colloquy made?
Our painters paint the study of Sentimental Colloquy by hand, with brushstrokes of different thickness, separately for every order. We paint in oil or acrylic, depending on the subject and the size, so the surface of Sentimental Colloquy has a real paint texture that a print does not have. When Sentimental Colloquy is finished, we photograph it and send you the photo for approval.
Which size of Sentimental Colloquy suits your room?
For the wall above a sofa or a sideboard choose Sentimental Colloquy in 110 × 60 cm, and for a bedroom, hallway or work corner 47 × 26 cm.
