Tiger – Salvador Dalí
Tiger is a painting by Salvador Dalí: a tiger’s head built from yellow and black triangles that breaks into a pattern up close and stares at you from a distance. We paint our hand-painted study of Tiger to order on canvas, in oil or acrylic, in 7 sizes from 50 × 44 cm to 230 × 201 cm or in a custom size. What does Tiger show?
In Tiger the whole canvas is divided into a net of yellow, black and grey triangles and diamonds; two yellow eyes look out at the top, a pink mouth with white fangs opens in the middle, and black spots and white whiskers run across the yellow fields. Step closer and the tiger dissolves into a geometric pattern, step back and it comes together again, so Tiger works like an optical game and has a strong, modern effect on the wall.
How is our hand-painted study of Tiger made?
Our painters paint the study of Tiger by hand, with brushstrokes of different thickness, separately for every order. We paint in oil or acrylic, depending on the subject and the size, so the surface of Tiger has a real paint texture that a print does not have. The first photograph shows our finished study of Tiger, stretched on stretcher bars, from the front, the second photograph shows it at an angle, and the third photograph shows the hand-painted whiskers, spots and canvas edge up close from the side. When Tiger is finished, we photograph it and send you the photo for approval.

We ship Tiger rolled in a sturdy tube, stretched on 2.5 cm deep wooden stretcher bars, or framed – you choose when you order. Stretching and framing of Tiger are done in our workshop in Slovenia.
