Description
Sunset at Sea – sailing boats in the evening fire
A dramatic seascape painted with a palette knife: horizontal bands of orange, red and dark bordeaux run across the sky, blue-white cloud masses rise at the upper left, deep violet clouds at the upper right. Low in the sky, left of centre, hangs a pale white disc of the sun.
Technique & Texture
Sky and water are built from decisive knife strokes; red-orange streaks cut across the middle band of water, while in the lower corners the sea calms into deep blue. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – every ridge of paint on the water catches its own piece of evening light.
The Motif
The main sailing boat with tall dark sails – a silhouette in warm backlight – sails to the right of the sun, with a greenish line of hull just above the water. Beneath the sun a golden-orange column of reflection spills across the water, and along the horizon the scene is completed by a small boat near the centre and a third, barely visible, at the far left.
Styling & Placement
A classic motif in a bold rendering – wall art for living rooms, bedrooms and offices that must not go without romance. Above a sofa or bed it becomes an evening window onto the sea.

Sunset at Sea above a sofa or bed
Sunset at Sea is painted in 14 sizes, from 50 x 40 to 240 x 175 cm. Above a 200 cm sofa the sailing boat in the evening fire at 130 x 95 or 140 x 105 cm fills about two thirds of the width, a 160 cm bed takes 110 x 80 cm, and a 150 cm sideboard 100 x 75 cm. With YES in the Stretcher menu, the orange and blue Sunset at Sea canvas arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang. A frame for this sailing seascape is optional, the Frame menu starts at Without frame, and delivery takes 15–45 days.
The first photograph shows the sailing boat in the evening fire straight on, in an optional gold frame on a studio easel, and the second photograph shows the same scene from the side, showing the frame’s depth. The Sunset at Sea painting is hand-painted with a palette knife, and the ridges of paint on the water below the boat are not a print.
