Description
The Abstraction painting in five panels: from green to deep blue for a long wall
Abstraction runs across five upright canvases hung side by side in a row, from green on the left to deep blue on the right. Every menu size is the whole five-panel set, width first, so one canvas is a fifth of the width and the full height. 100 x 50 cm means five canvases 20 cm wide and 50 cm tall; 120 x 65 cm, 24 cm wide and 65 cm tall; 150 x 75 cm, 30 cm wide and 75 cm tall; 170 x 95 cm, 34 cm wide and 95 cm tall; 200 x 100 cm, 40 cm wide and 100 cm tall; 205 x 115 cm, 41 cm wide and 115 cm tall; 225 x 125 cm, 45 cm wide and 125 cm tall; 240 x 135 cm, 48 cm wide and 135 cm tall; 255 x 140 cm, 51 cm wide and 140 cm tall; and 265 x 150 cm, 53 cm wide and 150 cm tall.
Above a 150 cm sideboard or on a hallway wall, 100 x 50 cm keeps to about two thirds of the width, and above a 220 cm sofa, 150 x 75 cm does the same. Above a 300 cm dining table, choose 200 x 100 cm. From 225 x 125 cm up, the five drip canvases need a long living-room wall, an open-plan space or the wall above a big corner sofa.
Black, orange, white and turquoise drip lines run across a ground that shifts from green and yellow on the left canvas through purple and red to deep blue on the right. All five drip-painted canvases arrive stretched on wooden stretchers, included in the price, ready to hang. Hang them in a row with equal gaps, starting with the middle, third canvas. Delivery takes 15–45 days. The Abstraction painting is hand-painted throughout, so it is not a print.
Who is the five-panel Abstraction painting for?
Abstraction is for a long wall where a single canvas would look too heavy or too small: above a long sofa or dining table, in a hallway, an office or a meeting room. The colours move from left to right, from green and yellow through purple and red to deep blue, so the wall reads the five canvases of Abstraction as one path the eye walks along. The gaps between the panels lighten the wall, which is why even a large size does not look bulky. The colourful drip lines liven up a room with white, grey or black furniture.
How are the five canvases painted?
Abstraction is hand-painted by our painters as one painting on five canvases. The coloured ground that shifts from green to deep blue comes first, then the painter lets black, orange, white and turquoise streams of paint run across all five canvases and drags them on. Because the lines cross the joins, the composition carries on from panel to panel. Dripping cannot be repeated in every detail, so each set of Abstraction comes out a little different. Before shipping we send you a photograph of all five finished canvases to approve.
Stretched and unframed, or framed?
Multi-panel paintings always ship stretched and unframed, so all five canvases of Abstraction are stretched in our workshop in Slovenia on 2.5 cm deep wooden stretchers. Without a frame the paint runs to the edges and the gaps between the panels stay clean. If you would like Abstraction framed, we frame each of the five canvases separately on request when you order.
How do I hang a five-panel painting?
Keep the shared centre of the five canvases of Abstraction about 150 cm from the floor; above a sofa or a sideboard, the bottom edge sits 20 to 30 cm over the back or the top. Make the gaps equal and narrow, 3 to 5 cm, so the lines stay connected. Paper templates the size of the canvases, taped to the wall before drilling, and a spirit level make hanging easier. A dry soft cloth or a brush is all the care it needs, without water or cleaners.
Is Abstraction a good gift?
For a new home or office, Abstraction in 100 x 50 cm is a gift that fits above a chest of drawers or in a hallway. If you do not know how much wall the recipient has free, give a gift voucher.
