The Detail painting: the hands from Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam on three canvases

The Detail painting copies the famous section of Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam: two hands whose fingertips almost touch, on a cracked grey-blue ground. It hangs as three canvases in a row, and every size in the menu is the whole set, width first; each canvas is a third of the total width and the full height. At 65 x 40 cm one canvas is about 22 cm wide and 40 cm tall; at 90 x 60 cm, 30 cm wide and 60 cm tall; at 120 x 80 cm, 40 cm wide and 80 cm tall; at 150 x 100 cm, 50 cm wide and 100 cm tall; at 175 x 110 cm, about 58 cm wide and 110 cm tall; at 195 x 120 cm, 65 cm wide and 120 cm tall; at 210 x 130 cm, 70 cm wide and 130 cm tall; at 225 x 140 cm, 75 cm wide and 140 cm tall; at 240 x 150 cm, 80 cm wide and 150 cm tall; and at 250 x 155 cm, about 83 cm wide and 155 cm tall.

65 x 40 cm suits a narrow hallway wall or the space above a desk. Above a 180 cm bed, choose the Detail set in 120 x 80 cm, about two thirds of its width. From 210 x 130 cm up, the set needs a long living-room wall, an open-plan space or a staircase wall.

Each of the three Detail canvases arrives stretched on its own wooden stretcher, included in the price. Hang them with equal gaps at one height, starting with the middle canvas, where the fingertips nearly meet. The 120 x 80 cm set is in stock and is delivered in 6 days, all other sizes in 15–45 days. The Detail painting is hand-painted, so it is not a print.
