Colour Grid – a Mondrian rhythm of colour blocks
A panorama – a grid of colour blocks in the Mondrian spirit, strung across the middle of a grey-beige plaster field, framed by black grid strokes, thin red and orange dash lines and white mast strokes rising above the band: in the mid-band, red, pink, teal, yellow, greyish and orange blocks line up across the full width, ruled by black verticals and horizontals.
Technique & Texture
The red accents are at the left and centre, a large teal block right of centre, and yellow-gold blocks scattered across the whole band. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the black lines rule the blocks most strongly in the right third, and the grey-beige plaster breaks through among them.
The Motif
Thin red vertical lines run left almost the full height with red dashes at the lower left, orange horizontal dashes are at the lower right, and white mast strokes rise above the band in several places; above the grid soft blue and lilac washes breathe, and pale grout below. A Mondrian rhythm, where six colours lock into a grid of black lines over a calm plaster field.
