Description
paintings – Filling Red – a city broken into cream
Wall art crumbles a city skyline into hundreds of small tiles and lays them out in a wide horizontal band — modern painting where the subject is not drawn but assembled and only arrives when you step away.
Technique and texture
Each tile is stamped down with the edge of the blade and stays sharply bounded, with no mixing into its neighbour. The load is thick, so the surface catches light at different angles and changes with where the viewer stands. Thin dark gaps are left between the tiles and give the whole its depth.
The motif
Cream and white dominate, and red, rust and ochre fragments gather through the lower half. A few verticals reach higher than the rest and suggest towers. The red is distributed in clusters rather than evenly, so a look jumps from one to the next, and the upper third is the brightest passage and behaves like sky above the crowding.
Setting and placement
A very wide and low proportion covers the long strip above a bed or a sofa, which is the wall this shape exists for. On a quiet unpatterned wall the fine structure is what comes forward.

Filling Red for long walls
Filling Red is available in 19 landscape sizes, from 60 x 30 to 340 x 165 cm. Its wide, low band of cream tiles with red and rust fragments is made for a long wall above a sofa or a bed. Over a 200 cm sofa, 130 x 63 or 140 x 68 cm covers about two thirds of the width, a bed 160–180 cm wide takes 110 x 54 or 120 x 60 cm, and a 180 cm dining table 120 x 60 cm. For a long hallway choose 200 x 100 cm, for a very wide wall even 300 x 145 cm.
When you choose YES in the Stretcher menu, Filling Red arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang. A frame is optional: for Filling Red the Frame menu starts at “Without frame”. Delivery takes 15–45 days. Every tile of the city skyline is stamped with the edge of a knife in a thick layer, so Filling Red is hand-painted and not a print.
