Adam is a painting by Fernando Botero: a full-figured nude Adam with red hair stands against a dark ground holding a green sprig, with apples hanging around him. We paint our hand-painted study of Adam to order on canvas, in oil or acrylic, in 8 sizes from 40 × 65 cm to 125 × 205 cm or in a custom size. Before Adam is dispatched, we send you a photo of the finished painting.
What does Adam show?
In Adam a round, muscular nude man with short reddish hair and a serious face stands facing us, covering himself with a green olive sprig; a dark tree trunk stands behind him and small green apples hang out of the darkness. Botero painted the biblical Adam as the companion to Eve, which is why Adam feels solemn, calm and a little comic.
How is our hand-painted study of Adam made?
Our painters paint the study of Adam by hand, with brushstrokes of different thickness, separately for every order. We paint in oil or acrylic, depending on the subject and the size, so the surface of Adam has a real paint texture that a print does not have. When Adam is finished, we photograph it and send you the photo for approval.

We ship Adam rolled in a sturdy tube, stretched on 2.5 cm deep wooden stretcher bars, or framed – you choose when you order. Stretching and framing of Adam are done in our workshop in Slovenia. When a size of Adam is in stock, it reaches you within 6 working days; a study of Adam painted to order reaches you in 15 to 45 days.
