Pollock’s Head is a painting by Jackson Pollock: a tangled head made of thick black and white swirls, full of eyes and mouths. What does Pollock’s Head show?
In Pollock’s Head thick black, white and grey lines twist across the whole square canvas, with round eyes, open mouths and horn-like shapes peering out of them, and brown, blue and ochre patches glowing in between. In his early years Pollock painted such tangled, almost mythic faces before he moved to dripping paint, which is why Pollock’s Head feels fierce, dark and mysterious.
