Dreams – suns turning above a tree
Painting on canvas turns whirls of suns across three panels in orange, yellow and white, with a deep blue and red sky stretched between them. A dark tree grows from the lower edge on thin branches that curl into snails at their tips. The stroke is dense enough to suggest a night sky caught mid-movement.
Technique & Texture
The entire surface is painted in short, circling strokes that never come to rest. The suns are built from the outside inward, hoop by hoop, until an almost white dot is left at the centre. The sky is made of overlapping blue, red and violet sweeps that leave the marks of the bristles visible.
The Dreams painting is three sun canvases hung side by side in a row, and every size in the menu is the whole set, width first; each canvas is a third of the total width and the full height. At 120 x 50 cm one canvas is 40 cm wide and 50 cm tall; at 150 x 60 cm, 50 cm wide and 60 cm tall; at 180 x 70 cm, 60 cm wide and 70 cm tall; at 195 x 85 cm, 65 cm wide and 85 cm tall; at 220 x 90 cm, about 73 cm wide and 90 cm tall; at 235 x 100 cm, about 78 cm wide and 100 cm tall; at 255 x 105 cm, 85 cm wide and 105 cm tall; at 270 x 115 cm, 90 cm wide and 115 cm tall; at 290 x 120 cm, about 97 cm wide and 120 cm tall; and at 300 x 125 cm, 100 cm wide and 125 cm tall.
Above a 180 cm bed or along a hallway wall, 120 x 50 cm fits. Above a 230 cm sofa, choose 150 x 60 cm, and above a 300 cm corner sofa, 195 x 85 cm, about two thirds of its width. From 255 x 105 cm up, the set needs a long living-room wall or an open-plan space.
The Motif
The left panel holds the largest sun in the red part of the sky, the middle one the tree and the pale blue, the right a group of smaller whirls, one of them green. The branches reach left and right past the edges of the canvases, so the motif carries from field to field. Along the bottom runs dark earth with short red and yellow strokes.
Styling & Placement
It brings a great deal of colour at once, so it belongs on a wall that can carry it alone. As wall art occupying a whole span, it asks for white walls and plain, single-colour furniture: a living room, a child’s room, a playroom.
- Technique: hand-painted painting on canvas, acrylic, short circling strokes and painted hoops
- Palette: cobalt blue, orange, sun yellow, red, white
- Ideal for: living rooms, children’s rooms, playrooms
- Character: dreamlike, animated, colour-rich
The triptych carries a whole wall by itself: take it in the full size.
The Dreams painting: a three-panel set of spinning suns above a tree
The Dreams painting spreads yellow and orange suns above a tree across three canvases in a row, in 4 landscape sizes that are totals of the set. Width by height, each Dreams canvas is 40 x 50 cm at 120 x 50 cm, 50 x 60 cm at 150 x 60 cm, 60 x 70 cm at 180 x 70 cm and 65 x 85 cm at 195 x 85 cm. Above a 230 cm sofa, choose 150 x 60 cm, and above a 270 cm sofa, 180 x 70 cm.
The first photograph shows the three canvases from the front against a white wall, and the second photograph the same row from the side. Each Dreams canvas arrives stretched on its own wooden stretcher, included in the price. Hang them with equal gaps, starting with the middle one and its trunk. Delivery takes 15–45 days. The suns, sky and tree are hand-painted in thick strokes, so the Dreams painting is not a print.
