Rousseau exaggerated the size of painted ordinary plants and flowers in his paintings. With this, he created a lush environment in which the animals of his fantasy landscapes reside. Sometimes the animals almost blend in with their surroundings or hide in the trees, so you almost have to look for them in the artist’s paintings. Is there a snake hiding in the grass? How many monkeys can you find in the painting?
