Full Fathom Five – Jackson Pollock

What does Full Fathom Five show?
Full Fathom Five looks like a glimpse into the deep sea: dark green layers gather at the centre, and light threads wind over them like light breaking through water. The title is a line from Shakespeare’s play Tempest, from the song about a drowned father who lies five fathoms deep on the sea floor. Into the paint of the original Pollock also pressed small objects: nails, buttons, a key, coins, cigarettes and matches.
