The Space 2 painting: a five-panel swirl set for a long wall or an office
The Space 2 painting is split across five canvases, three square and two narrow upright ones, and comes in 5 landscape sizes, from 120 x 55 to 280 x 130 cm. The sizes in the menu are the total size of the whole set, all five panels together. Above a 240 cm sofa, choose the Space 2 set in 160 x 70 cm, about two thirds as wide as the sofa. Above a 300 cm corner sofa, choose the five canvases in 200 x 90 cm, and for a reception wall, 280 x 130 cm.
Each of the five canvases arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher, included in the price, so the Space 2 set is ready to hang. Hang them with equal gaps, starting from the two narrow middle panels with the vortex. Delivery takes 15–45 days. The dark blue vortex with white and red splashes and the green and gold sweeps are hand-painted, so the painting is not a print.
Why does Space 2 bring a long wall to life?
Space 2 is made for a wall that is too long for a single canvas: above a long sofa or a double bed, in an office or at a reception desk. The dark blue vortex with white and red splashes at the centre draws the eye, and the green and gold sweeps lead it out to the edges, so the five canvases read as one composition. The gaps between the panels lighten the wall, which is why even a large size does not feel heavy. The deep blue goes with grey, black and white furniture, the gold accents with warm light and wood.
How are the five canvases painted?
Space 2 is hand-painted by our painters on five canvases, three square and two narrow upright ones, as a single painting. The vortex, splashes and sweeps run across the joins, so the composition carries on from one canvas to the next. The brushstrokes and splashes of paint can be seen on the surface, which no print can do. Because everything is done by hand, every set comes out a little different. We send you a photograph of the five finished canvases to approve before we pack them.
Stretched, unframed or framed?
The price of Space 2 includes the wooden stretchers: all five canvases are stretched in our workshop in Slovenia and arrive ready to hang. The five-panel Space 2 always ships stretched and unframed; on request we frame each of the five canvases when you order. Unframed, the dark blue vortex runs to the edges of the canvases, which suits a five-panel painting.
How do I hang a five-panel painting?
First mark the shared centre of the set at about 150 cm from the floor; above a sofa or bed, keep the bottom edge 20 to 30 cm over the back or headboard. Start with the narrow middle panels that carry the vortex and work outwards with even, narrow gaps of a few centimetres. A spirit level or a paper template fixed to the wall beforehand makes this easier. A dry soft cloth or a brush is all the care the canvases need, without water or cleaners.
Is Space 2 a good gift?
For a new office or home, the entry landscape size of 120 x 55 cm works as a gift and fits above a bed or a chest of drawers. If you do not know how much room the recipient has, a gift voucher is the better choice.
