Description
This abstract painting on canvas builds its composition from three horizontal layers that together create a landscape at once earthly and abstract. The upper band in a warm olive-grey gives the painting a closed, stable sky; then a silver-white with a cracked surface separates it from the darkness below. Between these two poles glimmers a thin, animated line of gold-ochre — like the last glint of sun on the horizon. The dark, almost black base carries the weight of the entire composition and gives it gravity. The layered texture of palette knife and natural cracks gives the surface a geological, stone-like character. This artistic painting is hand-painted — every geological layer was applied by the artist’s hand, literally carved into the canvas, just as time carves stone. This modern wall painting will be an excellent decoration for a space seeking a sophisticated, landscape-inspired abstraction in neutral tones.
