Night Windows is a painting by Edward Hopper: three lit windows of a city building at night, through which we look into a room. Night Windows shows the corner of a building out of the dark, with three windows: in the left one the wind lifts a white curtain, in the middle one a woman in a pink slip bends down by the radiator, and in the right one a lamp with a red shade glows. Hopper puts us in the role of a watcher on the street, which is why Night Windows feels intimate, mysterious and typically urban.
