Description

Golden Diagonal – one cut, two materials
A single broad amber-gold diagonal band slices through a dark graphite field: it enters the upper left corner across its full width, runs down to the right and exits along the lower half of the right edge – a cut that splits the canvas into two worlds.
Technique & Texture
The materials each speak their own language: the graphite field is combed horizontally, with silver-white dry strokes strongest at the left middle and the bottom, over a blue-grey undertone. This is a hand-painted art painting – the grooves of the gold band run lengthwise along the band itself, on its own diagonal, like grain in a plank.
The Motif
The band’s edges are slightly frayed, with loose threads reaching into the graphite – the cut is not surgical but woven. Two directions of combing that meet at an angle: in that lies all the tension of the painting.
Styling & Placement
An elegant painting on canvas for offices, living rooms and dining rooms; the gold warms, the graphite calms, and the diagonal adds movement to the room – modern wall art that pairs well with dark wood and black metal.
