Description
Turquoise Horizon – morning over a calm sea
An almost square canvas of crumpled white plaster over which a single morning spills: at the upper middle height floats a soft mint-turquoise band of clouds with its brightest turquoise core left of centre, beneath it lies a darker slate blue-grey mass, and the lower quarter calms into a pale blue-white field.
Technique & Texture
The white and cream ground is creased and cracked like an old wall, and the colour bands are rubbed into it softly, without hard edges. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the crumpled texture beneath the colour is real and comes alive in side light.
The Motif
The slate mass is heavier on the left, where it is cracked like a storm cloud, thinning toward the right into pale blue-grey. Beside it, flecks of gold light up: warm gold dust near the left edge and a distinct row of golden sparks running from the centre to the right edge – the sun breaking through the mist.
Styling & Placement
Calming modern wall wall art for bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms; the turquoise refreshes, the gold warms, and the square format also works beautifully in pairs.

Turquoise Horizon above a sofa, bed or sideboard
Turquoise Horizon, mint-turquoise clouds over a slate blue-grey mass on crumpled plaster, is painted in 14 square sizes, from 40 x 40 to 180 x 180 cm. Let it cover about two thirds of the furniture below: 130 x 130 or 140 x 140 cm over a 200 cm sofa, 110 x 110 or 120 x 120 cm above a bed 160–180 cm wide, 100 x 100 cm over a 150 cm sideboard, and 70 x 70 cm in a hallway.
The first photograph shows Turquoise Horizon above a teal sofa in a grey room, and the second photograph shows it above a dark green velvet sofa under hanging plants, each in an optional pale frame. Choose YES in the Stretcher menu and the canvas with its golden sparks arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang. A frame is not included, and for the turquoise clouds the Frame menu starts at Without frame. Delivery takes 15–45 days. The painting is hand-painted on creased plaster, alive in side light, so Turquoise Horizon is not a print.
