Colour Burst – three dark events and a golden cloud
An expressionist burst across the whole canvas on a pale blue-white ground: a navy-black tangle left of centre with red flashes and blue strokes – the largest and densest event – a gold-brown cloud at the upper right with its own black knot, and a violet-black cluster at the lower right with red fragments.
Technique & Texture
Between the events stroll thin black scribbles, vertical drips and cream-yellow dabs. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the random drips and loose strokes are the record of a speed that cannot be repeated.
The Motif
Carmine red accents light up at the upper centre, at the left middle and at the lower left, a small black bar with a red dot stands at the upper left edge, and along the bottom edge spreads a greyish violet tint – the burst has its signature in every corner.
