Colour Geometry – rounded and straight planes
A hard-edge composition in the Bauhaus spirit – rounded and straight colour planes locking into one another like a poster: a navy block with rounded corners is upper left over a cream band, a dark aubergine bar beside a red stripe, and a large pink sail-shape with a curved right edge fades at the top from rose to peach.
Technique & Texture
Across the centre spreads a large dark-brown rounded pill, and a two-tone light-blue block on the right has its lower right corner carved by a curve. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the planes have clean edges, softened by the rounded semicircular elements.
The Motif
A large white field takes the lower right with a salmon square at the corner, a khaki-beige J-hook band is at the lower centre-left, a rust-chestnut rounded form behind it, and a red strip sparks along the bottom edge.
