Gas – Edward Hopper
Gas is a painting by Edward Hopper: a lonely roadside gas station at dusk, with a dark wood behind it. We paint our hand-painted study of Gas to order on canvas, in oil or acrylic, in 9 sizes from 40 × 60 cm to 120 × 180 cm or in a custom size. Before Gas is dispatched, we send you a photo of the finished painting.
What does Gas show?
Gas shows three red gas pumps in front of a small white building, a lone attendant beside them, while the road bends into a dark wood above which the evening sky is fading. The light from the building and the tall lit sign stand against the dusk, which is why Gas feels calm, lonely and almost like a scene from a film.
How is our hand-painted study of Gas made?
Our painters paint the study of Gas by hand, with brushstrokes of different thickness, separately for every order. We paint in oil or acrylic, depending on the subject and the size, so the surface of Gas has a real paint texture that a print does not have. When Gas is finished, we photograph it and send you the photo for approval.
