Geometric Intersection – a black panel and timber beams
A black left panel and a warm grey field crossed by tan-ochre beams – one T-intersection of timber-like strokes with a mid-band of knife tiles: a deep black panel fills the left third at full height, and along its edge stand a pale tan vertical beam and a horizontal beam running left from it – the intersection of the title, glowing ochre-gold where they meet.
Technique & Texture
Across the centre runs a rhythmic sequence of horizontal knife tiles – cream and white blocks, a dark graphite block right of centre and a taupe-brown band at the right edge, while grey and cream tiles cascade down to the right. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the beams are pulled with the knife, their edges carrying a real texture.
The Motif
A warm light-grey plaster field takes the right two thirds, and the lower half calms with pale white stroke-marks. A rhythm of beams and tiles, where the black panel grounds the composition and the ochre-gold intersection warms it.
