Description
Golden River – a comet sweep across the black
A white-grey comet sweep winding from the upper left across the canvas to a wave-hook at the right, with a gold impasto river on its crest and a pool at the lower left – white on black, one gesture: the white-grey body enters wide at the upper left, narrows toward the right and hooks to the right, like a breaking wave.
Technique & Texture
The gold river runs in two courses – along the sweep’s upper crest, boldest at the hook’s rim, and in a lower branch back through the centre into a heavy pool with drops in the lower left corner. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the gold is a thick impasto, and orange-rust traces drip beneath the pool.
The Motif
The black canvas holds the right and lower right sides and the left edge below the sweep, and over the white at the upper left black spatters scatter, while white and gold droplets fall across the black. A galactic sweep, caught in a single pull, joining two visual dialogues: light and dark.
Styling & Placement

Golden River: sizes for living rooms and offices
Golden River is painted in 15 sizes, from 60 x 40 to 260 x 170 cm; the majority are landscape, and three are upright canvases (55 x 85, 70 x 110 and 100 x 150 cm). Over a 200 cm sofa the white-and-gold sweep works at 140 x 92 cm, which covers about two thirds of the sofa width. Above a bed 160–180 cm wide choose 110 x 72 or 120 x 80 cm, and the same 120 x 80 cm suits a dining table. A long hallway or reception wall takes 160 x 105 cm.
In the photograph Golden River hangs on a white wall of an empty room beside a tall window, shown in a thin gold frame. That frame is optional: the Frame menu for Golden River starts at “Without frame”. To hang it straight away, choose YES under Stretcher and Golden River arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher. Delivery takes 15–45 days. Golden River is hand-painted, the gold laid onto the black canvas in thick impasto, so this painting is not a print.
