Description
Blossoming – golden islands in turquoise washes
An archipelago of gold-blossom clusters scattered over pale grey, blooming among turquoise washes, emerald flecks and black ink shadows – a lichen field seen from above: five or six main islands, from a large mass at the upper left cut by the edge to a long diagonal chain at the upper right.
Technique & Texture
A central band descends to the right, a cluster rests at the lower left, and another patch sits at the right edge. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – everything is raised leaf with black grit and a sooty shadow beneath it.
The Motif
Turquoise watercolour washes gather in the right half, brightest right of centre, with emerald-green flecks; softer blue washes lie in the lower left corner, and black ink dots and grey sooty mists follow every cluster. Without a plan, yet in harmony – lichen spots that have found their own order.

Blossoming over a sofa, in a kitchen or a child’s room
Blossoming comes in 15 sizes, from 60 x 40 to 260 x 170 cm; twelve are landscape, while 55 x 85, 70 x 110 and 100 x 150 cm are upright canvases. Over a 200 cm sofa the gold islands and turquoise washes work at 140 x 92 cm, a little over two thirds of the sofa width. Above a 160 cm bed choose 110 x 72 cm, and a kitchen wall or a child’s room needs only 90 x 60 cm. A large living-room wall takes 180 x 120 cm.
In the photograph Blossoming hangs in a thin gold frame above a brown leather sofa between two pale armchairs, on a dark grey wall. The frame is optional: the Frame menu for Blossoming starts at “Without frame”. For Blossoming, choose YES under Stretcher and it arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang. Delivery takes 15–45 days. This painting is hand-painted, with raised gold leaf and black grit standing off the canvas, so Blossoming is not a print.
