Traces II – City Rain on Glass
A vertical abstraction of runs and streaks that feels like looking through a window into a rainy city. The left third-and-more is dense and warm – a gold-amber column, beside it a near-black pillar, and deep red and maroon streaks – while the larger right part is airily whitish, with grey-blue vertical runs.
Technique & Texture
The painting is built with a palette knife: thick vertical layers, ridges, and runs that genuinely flow downward. It is a hand-painted artistic painting – the direction of every drip was set by gravity, its speed by the artist’s hand.
The Motif
Pale blue and white streaks cut through the warm left band, and at the lower left two tiny red horizontal dashes pulse. In the bright right field a taller pale blue cluster stands out right of centre, red-brown verticals scatter along the far right edge, and a single orange hook at the lower right adds an unexpected spark; along the bottom edge faint blue dashes appear like reflections.
