Stillness – the mist erases the line of the horizon
A minimalist misty landscape of near-total silence: the upper seventy percent is a warm grey-beige sky with tiny pale flecks and soft cloud shadows, brightest just above the horizon, while the lower thirty is a dark beige-brown band of earth or sea.
Technique & Texture
The sky is finely textured, and the lower band is laid in horizontal strokes that darken toward the bottom edge. This is a hand-painted painting on canvas – the silver-white glints on the dark band are real flecks of bright paint that cannot be printed.
The Motif
The glints skate across the dark band and gather at the centre into a bright glistening pool – moonlight on water. The border between sky and earth is soft, blurred and slightly uneven: the mist slowly erases the line of the horizon until only the mood remains.
