Description

Split – black calligraphy on warm sand
A black calligraphic explosion on warm sand-gold plaster: a dense black knot sits left of centre at mid-height, and from it long spokes radiate – three toward the right edge, a fan of five downward to the left, and a vertical bar climbing to the top edge.
Technique & Texture
Beneath the knot descends a creased frond of folded pleats to two thirds of the height, while at the upper left the plaster carries a heavy scratched grid texture. This is a hand-painted art painting – the spokes are drawn in a single breath and their ends run out dry.
The Motif
Rust-umber stains warm the lower left and lower centre, and at the lower right a small hooked stroke signs off. Branches, lightning or roots – everyone reads the split their own way, but the knot stays the same.
Styling & Placement
An expressive modern painting for living rooms, offices and entrance halls; the warm sandy ground ties it to wood and terracotta, and the black calligraphy gives it character – wall art with a single decisive gesture.
