Description

Moonlight – a charcoal moon over a single trunk
A poetic winter scene in cream, ochre and umber: at the left middle hangs an oval, moon-like shape, drawn in loose charcoal calligraphy, with a dense knot at its top from which thin arcs sweep to the right.
Technique & Texture
Behind the oval, at the upper left, floats a soft white glow like a cloudy crescent, and at the lower left rises a single dark umber trunk with white dripping streaks – the only tree of the scene, enough to give winter its scale. This is a hand-painted art painting – fine dots spray across the whole canvas like mist.
The Motif
Beneath the oval runs a horizontal dark blurred line – a water or snow surface that grounds the moon – while along the right side and lower centre warm rust-ochre clusters gather, autumn leaves that winter has not yet taken.
Styling & Placement
A quiet painting on canvas for bedrooms, living rooms and waiting rooms; the calligraphic stroke gives it an Eastern calm, and the warm accents make sure winter does not chill – wall art with the stillness of a snowfall.
