Blossom I – rectangular leaves in silver and honey
Wall art radiates flat rectangular blocks outward from a dark core in silver-blue and gold-beige — decorative painting rather than pattern, because no block repeats the size of another.
Technique and texture
A stiff blade set each block down in one press, without dragging, which is why the faces are smooth and the edges stand up. The silver is a pigment that breaks light differently from the beige beside it, so the balance between them shifts as the viewer moves. The core is the densest place on the canvas, where blocks overlap through several layers.
The motif
The blocks are arranged in four or five rings that widen and thin toward the edge. Each one is cut off square, so it reads as a leaf rather than as a stroke. The composition has no hard boundary: the last ring dissolves into a ground of the same blue-grey and the picture simply stops.
Setting and placement
This is close to a single-colour picture, and that is its practical advantage — it settles into grey, metal and pale timber without deciding the colour of the room. Nothing here competes with furniture, which is why it survives above a sofa, a chest or a bed equally well.
