Wall art combs concentric circles into a wet blue sky and stacks meadows and a water band beneath it on a square canvas — modern painting that stays a landscape only as far as the viewer assembles one.
Technique and texture
A toothed tool works the upper part drawn through fresh paint in concentric rings, which gives the sky its turning look. The middle and the foot are painted in thin overlapping layers, rubbed back to the ground in places. Vertical runs were let down over wet colour and are deliberately not aligned.
The motif
The upper third is blue sky with grey-white cloud and one warm rust-orange patch left of centre. Below it lies a dark grey-green band, then a lighter strip with white and ochre marks. A vivid turquoise water band crosses the middle with yellow-green fields spreading beside it. Weight collects at the foot on the left, dark enough to stop the bands drifting.
Setting and placement
A square works alone above a chest or paired on a wider wall. The cold blue settles a room, so it suits a bedroom, a bathroom or a working corner; beside timber furniture the green and ochre at the foot pick up the warmth of the wood.
