Description
Golden Mist – a coastal haze with golden threads
A panoramic coastal abstraction: the upper seventy percent is a vast haze in grey-white and pale celadon, all the strokes horizontal, and woven through the whole upper field run gold-ochre streaks – strongest at the upper left, the middle of the left side and the right of centre – with tiny teal hints beside them and soft grey bands of shadow.
Technique & Texture
This is a hand-painted painting on canvas of long, calm horizontal strokes; above the dark lower band, white spatter droplets are scattered like sea spray at dusk.
The Motif
The lower quarter is closed by a dark shelf of coast or marsh at dusk: almost black and deep green, with a teal sill at its centre – and right in this dark band, at the lower right, cuts the brightest gold-yellow ribbon of the whole painting. The very bottom edge is a rust-brown earthen strip with a tiny orange spark at the lower centre.

Golden Mist above a sofa, bed or table
Golden Mist is a landscape painting made in 18 sizes, from 45 x 30 to 260 x 170 cm. Keep Golden Mist at about two thirds of the width of the furniture below: 130 x 85 or 140 x 92 cm over a 200 cm sofa, 110 x 72 or 120 x 80 cm above a 160–180 cm bed, 150 x 100 cm over a 220 cm dining table, and 100 x 65 cm along a long hallway. For a very large wall there are 220 x 145 and 260 x 170 cm as well. Choose YES under Stretcher and the grey-white and gold canvas arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher, ready to hang, with a frame for Golden Mist optional, since the Frame menu starts at Without frame. Golden Mist arrives in 15–45 days.
The photograph shows Golden Mist unframed in the studio, leaning against the wall above a paint-spattered floor. The gold-ochre streaks and the white spatter are hand-painted on canvas, not printed.
